Hi, girls! I decided to try doing gel polish for the first time, but I haven’t quite figured out how to prepare my nails yet. I know that this step is very important, but I still have doubts about whether I’m doing everything right. What tips do you have for preparing my nails before applying gel polish? I’d like to hear about the subtleties and your personal life hacks to make your manicure last as long as possible.

First, start by thoroughly cleaning your nails from old polish and degreasing them with a special product. This is necessary so that the gel polish adheres better to the surface of the nail and does not start to peel off after a couple of days. Pay attention to the cuticle – it is imperative to carefully push it back and remove excess skin, but do not cut too much so as not to injure the nail. I also advise using a buff, but do not overdo it so as not to thin the nails. Lightly buff the surface of the nail to remove the gloss – this also improves adhesion. And, of course, do not forget about the base – it protects the nail and prolongs the life of the manicure. Well, I can not help but recommend excellent nail preparation products that I found here: DNKa . They help to achieve perfect coverage and durability.

I agree with you, nail preparation is the basis of a good manicure. I recently learned that even the shape of the nail plays a role. If they are too square or sharp, the polish can chip off at the edges faster. Now I try to make an “almond” shape – this way the manicure lasts longer. And another important point – do not forget to dry your nails before applying the base, even if they seem dry, to avoid bubbles under the gel.
